What is Gain

In electronic components, gain refers to the amplification ratio of voltage, current, or power between an input signal and an output signal.

In other words, it is a value that indicates how much the input signal is amplified by the output signal, usually expressed in dB.

Gain is used in various electronic components, and it plays a very important role in circuits such as amplifiers and operation amplifiers.

An amplifier is used to amplify an input signal to create an output signal. Here, gain is a value representing the amplification ratio of the output signal to the input signal.

Gain is generally expressed by dividing it into voltage gain, current gain, and power gain.

Each gain is calculated in a different way depending on the shape of the input signal.

Voltage gain is calculated as the ratio between input voltage and output voltage, and current gain is calculated as the ratio between input current and output current.

Power gain is calculated as the ratio between input power and output power, and is usually higher than other gains.
