What is MALE

The term electronics male generally refers to the shape of the pins on either end of a connector or cable.

The term Male is used because the pin shape usually resembles that of a male genital organ.

For example, Male Connector refers to a connector whose pins are threaded or interlock with the plugs of other connectors or cables.

Conversely, a Female Connector refers to a hole in a connector or one that engages and connects to the socket of another connector or cable.

In general, connectors widely used in computers, communications, and electronic products are divided into male and female, and proper connection must be made by properly distinguishing them for proper operation.
