What is SURFACE

Surface can be used in many ways in electronic components.

First, Surface mount technology (SMT) is one of the installation methods for electronic components.

SMT refers to a technology that directly attaches electronic components to the surface of a printed circuit board (PCB).

So Surface refers to the surface of the PCB to which electronic components are attached.

Second, Surface mount device (SMD) refers to electronic components made with SMT technology.

SMDs are designed to be smaller, cheaper, and with higher densities than traditional non-surface components.

These SMDs are widely used in mobile devices, computers, digital cameras, etc.

Third, Surface finish means the surface treatment technology of PCB. Since the surface of a PCB can be damaged by corrosion, oxidation, printing, etc., various surface treatment techniques are used to protect it.

These surface treatment technologies play an important role in improving the performance and lifespan of PCBs.
