What is THROUGH


Through is a term referring to a component that passes through a hole in an electronic component.

In electronic components, a through component generally refers to a component that, when mounted on a printed circuit board (PCB), passes through a hole in the PCB so that the component can be connected to the back side of the PCB as well.

For example, Through-Hole Resistor (TH Resistor) is a representative Through component of electronic components.

TH Resistor cuts a hole in the PCB, and through this hole, the pins of the component are connected to the back of the PCB to transmit electrical signals.

As such, through components play an important role in securing the components to the PCB and maintaining the necessary electrical connections.

Therefore, when using the term electronic through, it can mean an electronic component that passes through a hole in a PCB.
