What is VOLTAGE

Voltage, also known as electric potential difference, is a measure of the electrical energy difference between two points in an electrical circuit. It is expressed in volts (V) and is the electrical force that drives the flow of electric charge through a circuit.

In an electrical circuit, voltage can be thought of as the electrical pressure that pushes electric charge from one point to another.

The greater the voltage difference between two points, the greater the electrical force and the faster the flow of charge.

Voltage is an important parameter in the design and operation of electrical systems, as it determines the amount of electrical energy that can be transmitted through a circuit, the amount of power that can be supplied to a load, and the maximum current that a circuit can handle.

Voltage can be generated by a variety of sources, including batteries, generators, and power supplies.

It is an essential component of the electrical power distribution system and is used to transfer electrical energy from power plants to homes and businesses.
