What is regulator


A regulator is an electronic device that is used to maintain a constant output voltage or current, despite changes in input voltage, load resistance, or temperature.

Regulators are widely used in power supplies, battery charging circuits, and other applications where a stable voltage or current is required.

There are several types of voltage regulators, including linear regulators, switching regulators, and LDO (low-dropout) regulators.
